The Basics

Our skin tells our story.

Textural changes such as a wrinkle, fold, or scar, and hyperpigmentation, blood vessels, brown spots, and red spots can be due to skin damage, genetics, various exposures, pregnancy, and skin conditions. Textural and tone changes can be more complicated than most people realize. Since there can be many causes for texture and pigmentary changes, it is important to be evaluated by our board-certified dermatologist in order to determine the right treatment course.

What to Expect

Sometimes a pigmentary change may require a diagnostic skin biopsy. Proper evaluation by a dermatologist is important.

Depending on the cause of uneven skin tone of texture, the clinical treatments can range from topical creams, to oral medications, to in-office treatments but often require a full comprehensive approach.

Alterations in texture and tone can be difficult to treat, depending on severity and your skin type, and typically require multiple treatments. We will work with you to create the right plan for you.

Post-treatment is just as important as in-office treatment. Daily sunscreen and a personalized skincare regimen is crucial.
