Kybella® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps breakdown fat. When Kybella® is injected in small areas of fat into the skin, it causes chemical destruction of fat cells to eliminate unwanted excess fat under the chin without surgery. At Entière Dermatology, we have extensive experience using Kybella® in many areas including under the chin, but also in other small areas such as jowls (fat under the jawline), fat bulges in front of the armpits, bra bulges, and fat above and below the knee in order to contour the treated area.
What to Expect
At your consultation, we discuss whether Kybella® is the right treatment for you as opposed to liposuction, surgery, or other non-invasive body contouring procedures for the best result.
It works gradually over 6-12 weeks. A typical treatment course requires 2-6 sessions.
Tenderness and bruising can last for up to one week after treatment.
Sensitivity, swelling, and/or numbness can last up to a month after treatment.
Our Recommendations
The best time to schedule your appointment is at least 2 weeks before an event.
Apply ice packs in the treated areas gently throughout the day for 3-5 minutes at a time.
Kybella can be combined with other non-invasive body sculpting procedures such as Ultheraphy™ and Genius RF™.
